Presentation for the music community of Denmark
On 3 April 2024, at 15:00 CET, Kyiv Contemporary Music Days in cooperation with Art Music Denmark present an online showcase of the Contemporary Classical Music Portfolio UA for the Danish professional music community. The event will consist of three parts: presentation, discussion, and streamed music compilation.
In the first part, the KCMD team will present the Contemporary Classical Music Portfolio UA, a curated selection of organizations and professionals that best represent the field of new music in Ukraine today and are the go-to institutions for international cooperation. The Portfolio is an online tool designed for music professionals worldwide interested in collaborations with Ukrainian counterparts. At the presentation, KCMD will introduce the Portfolio, explaining what it’s for and how to use it.Â
The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with Ukrainian new music professionals moderated by James Black, composer and director of KLANG festival. He will be in conversation with composers Adrian Mocanu and Yana Shliabanska; and Dzvenyslava Safian, co-founder and editor of The Claquers online magazine. The audience will get first-hand accounts of the current situation with the classical music community in Ukraine from its active participants.
The event will conclude with a 1.5-hour-long streaming of selected works by Ukrainian composers featured in the Portfolio.Â
