About
On 19 September 2024, at 18:00 Kyiv Contemporary Music Days invites concert and festival organizers, musicologists, curators, music journalists, and musicians to Morphine Raum in Berlin for a special event. Using the launch of a new edition of KCMD’s Contemporary Classical Music Portfolio UA as a pretext, Find and Relate will be switching between informal networking, a live conversation, and a solo concert.
Coming from Kyiv for a conversation is Liza Sirenko, co-founder of The Claquers, Ukraine’s first independent media about classical music. She will be talking with Jeffrey Arlo Brown, editor at VAN Magazine, about the current situation in Ukraine and Germany and ways for musicians from both countries to collaborate.
Following the conversation, Mathis Mayr of ensemble mosaik will play a program for solo cello by Ukrainian contemporary composers featured in the Portfolio.
The event is free but you need to register here.
the Portfolio
Contemporary Classical Music Portfolio UA is a curated selection of organizations and professionals that best represent the field of new music in Ukraine today. It was designed by KCMD to be an easy-to-use tool for music professionals around the world to find and engage with their Ukrainian counterparts. Find and Relate is a format aimed at actualizing the Portfolio for the Berlin professional audiences and starting new creative collaborations.
Find and Relate was made possible as part of the “Weltoffenes Berlin” fellowship program by the Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt
