On 10 October 2026, the European Composer and Songwriter Alliance (ECSA), Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen and Kyiv Contemporary Music Days present the ECCO Concert, ECSA’s flagship project for new art music. At Koncertkirken in Copenhagen, the ensemble led by conductor Susanne Blumenthal performs six works by composers from Ukraine, Hungary, France, Finland and Denmark.
The programme combines works selected through ECSA’s international open call with pieces chosen jointly by ECSA, Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen and KCMD. This is the first ECCO concert whose open call was open to all composers from Ukraine, with outreach and coordination by KCMD (read more, in Ukrainian). It brings together established and emerging composers and offers a snapshot of European contemporary music today, with a wide range of sound worlds, aesthetics and artistic perspectives. Two of the six pieces are by Ukrainian composers, Adrian Mocanu and Anna Arkushyna. The evening also includes the world premiere of Sophie Lacaze’s new work.
ECCO 2026 is organised by ECSA with the support of Creative Europe, in partnership with Kyiv Contemporary Music Days and Art Music Denmark. Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen is supported by the Aage and Johanne Louis-Hansen Foundation, the Knud Højgaard Foundation, the Beckett Foundation, the William Demant Foundation, the Danish Tennis Foundation, the Danish Ministry of Culture and the Danish Arts Foundation.
